Survey imageWhy do people go to A&E and Dudley Walk in Centre instead of visiting their own doctors surgery?

We will be talking to people to find out and are looking for volunteers.

As part of Dudley’s urgent care consultation,  Healthwatch Dudley has been asked by Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to carry out some independent research to find out how and why people are accessing local services.

The research will take place at Russells Hall Hospital and Holly Hall Walk in centre between Friday 29th November and Thursday 5th December.  We are looking for volunteers who enjoy talking to people to join us for a few hours between 8am & 10pm, to ask patients a few simple questions.  All volunteers will receive full training, support and out of pocket expenses.

If you would like to take part, please register for one volunteer induction session by clicking a link below. Each event is limited to 10 places.

Brierley Hill – Wednesday November 20th 10am – 12pm
Dudley – Thursday November 21st 2pm – 4pm
Stourbridge – Thursday November 21st 6pm – 8pm

We are in the process of developing our volunteer recruitment and support package so these sessions will be a chance for people who are interested in volunteering with us longer term, to meet us and find out more about Healthwatch Dudley.

Our induction sessios will give an overview of Healthwatch, background into why we are going to A&E and the Walk In Centre and why we have been asked to carry out this independent research.  Volunteers will get a chance to ask questions, practice with the questionnaire and will also receive guidance about how to approach vulnerable people and how to keep themselves safe.

A member of the Healthwatch Dudley team will be on site to support at all times and involvement with this survey will be part of an ongoing recruitment, induction and training process of our volunteers.

Register by clicking on one of the above links or email volunteer@healthwatchdudley.co.uk or call Ali on 01384 267427 to find out more.
