Report on Urgent Care

We were asked by the Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group to find out what people who use urgent care in Dudley think about the services. People's views will be used to inform the decision making around proposed new urgent care treatment centre.

Summary

The survey aimed to understand patients' experiences, views, and concerns regarding access to healthcare services, specifically focusing on the Walk-in Centre and Accident and Emergency.
The research was conducted to inform the decision-making process surrounding potential improvements to Urgent Care services in the area.

Key findings

  • Many patients expressed concern about the proposal to close the Walk-in Centre, as it fills a gap in primary care.
  • The majority of patients did not contact another healthcare service before attending emergency care.
  • Over 1000 people surveyed to research the A&E at Russells Hall Hospital.
